Kaduna State's Governor Uba Sani has set an ambitious target of securing three million votes in the upcoming 2027 elections, a significant increase from his previous goal of two million. This announcement comes in the wake of major defections to the All Progressives Congress (APC) by prominent allies of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

In a bold move signaling his electoral ambitions, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has announced a target of three million votes for the 2027 elections, a substantial escalation from his earlier pledge of two million votes. Speaking at a recent event, Sani expressed confidence in achieving this milestone, citing the robust voter registration in the state, where approximately 96% of the 4.6 million registered voters have received their voter cards.
This ambitious target comes in the context of significant political realignments in Kaduna, as several key allies of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai have made the decision to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC). These defections are expected to bolster the party's support base as it gears up for the upcoming electoral contest.
“We are committed to mobilizing our supporters and enhancing our outreach to ensure that we not only meet but exceed this target,” Sani stated, emphasizing the need for unity and collaboration among party members. He further encouraged voters to participate actively in the electoral process, underscoring the importance of their votes in shaping the future of Kaduna State.
“Before now, we were promising to deliver two million votes, but we have now upgraded to three million votes, God willing,” Sani added, reflecting his growing optimism about the APC's prospects in the state.
As political dynamics continue to shift in Kaduna, the APC's strategy and Sani's leadership will be closely scrutinized in the lead-up to the elections. The governor's goal not only highlights his determination but also sets the stage for a competitive electoral landscape in 2027.
