South African National Sentenced to 25 Years for Heroin Trafficking in Abuja

A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced a South African woman to 25 years in prison for her involvement in heroin trafficking. This ruling comes after the individual was apprehended by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on July 6 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, where 14 blocks of heroin were discovered in her luggage.

The NDLEA, which has been intensifying its efforts against drug trafficking in Nigeria, highlighted this case as part of its broader commitment to combating the illegal drug trade in the country. During the trial, evidence presented by the prosecution, including the seized heroin, played a crucial role in securing the conviction.
