Nigerian Troops Capture Suspected Kidnapper, Seize Firearm in Edo State

The Nigerian Army's 4 Brigade has successfully arrested a suspected kidnapper during a targeted operation in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was apprehended by troops conducting operations aimed at disrupting criminal activities along the vital Benin-Sapele transportation route.

During the operation, the troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine containing eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, along with several personal items including a Tecno mobile phone, two bags, a torchlight, a music box, and assorted charms. These findings highlight the ongoing challenges posed by kidnapping and related crimes in the region.

Authorities have indicated that Oyeniyi and the recovered items are currently in custody, with investigations ongoing to determine his connections to other criminal elements operating in the area.
