Young DELSU Undergraduate Crowned Ajeh of Ekwuoma Kingdom

In a historic ceremony held yesterday, Prince Daniel Afamefune Chukwujindu, a 23-year-old undergraduate studying Microbiology at Delta State University (DELSU), was officially crowned the 11th Ajeh of Ekwuoma Kingdom in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State. This significant event comes after the completion of burial rites for his late father, King Chinedu Samuel Chukwujindu, Ezeagu-Ukpo I, who passed away on June 2, 2026.

Prince Daniel’s ascension to the throne follows the time-honored tradition of primogeniture, where the firstborn son inherits the title of the reigning monarch. During his installation ceremony, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Ekwuoma for their trust and support, emphasizing his commitment to uphold the customs and traditions of the kingdom.

“I appreciate the people of Ekwuoma for their confidence and support. I pledge to uphold the customs and traditions of our kingdom and promote peace, unity, and development,”

the new Ajeh stated. He further urged the community to rally around the traditional institution, stressing the importance of unity in fostering growth and prosperity within Ekwuoma. “We must work collectively towards building a stronger and more prosperous community,” he added.

Highlighting the collaborative efforts needed to address the challenges facing the kingdom, Prince Daniel called for greater cooperation among the traditional institution, local government, and the citizenry. His reign is anticipated to bring a renewed focus on development and harmony in Ekwuoma, reflecting the aspirations of its people.
