In a fervent display of support for President Bola Tinubu, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has stated that thoughts of Tinubu's re-election occupy his mind daily. Speaking at town hall meetings in the Rumueme and Apara kingdoms of Rivers State, Wike expressed his belief that the 2027 campaign will be less arduous than the 2023 election, highlighting the need for Rivers State residents to rally behind the president.
Wike remarked, “Each day I sleep, I am thinking about the president’s re-election. When I am eating, I think about the president’s re-election. Everything I am doing now is about the president’s re-election.” His comments underscore a deep commitment to ensuring Tinubu secures a second term, reflecting a strategic political alignment in the lead-up to the next election.
Urging the citizens of Rivers State to transcend personal sentiments and support Tinubu, Wike pointed to the president’s initiatives that have benefitted the region, including development projects and key appointments of Rivers indigenes within his administration. He stated, “Let us forget sentiment and vote for the person who has recognised the people of Rivers State with dividends of democracy.”
Wike’s enthusiasm for Tinubu's leadership is matched by his confidence in the electoral process, predicting a smoother path to re-election in 2027. “I know the re-election of Tinubu in 2027 will be easier than that of 2023. We should appreciate Tinubu and ensure he gets a massive number of votes. We can do it,” he asserted, aiming to galvanize support across the state.
