Tinubu Urges NDA Graduates to Uphold Constitution and Safeguard National Integrity

In a stirring address to the newly commissioned officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces, President Bola Tinubu emphasized the critical role that these graduates must play in upholding Nigeria's Constitution and safeguarding the nation’s economic stability. The speech, delivered by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, took place during the combined passing-out parade of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) on Saturday in Kaduna, which marked the graduation of cadets from various courses, including the 73 Regular Course and several Short Service Courses.

President Tinubu commended the Commandant of the NDA and his team for their commitment to transforming cadets into leaders who are not only battle-ready but also intellectually equipped and morally grounded. He remarked that since its establishment in 1964, the Academy has consistently adapted to the evolving security landscape by integrating military training with academic excellence and character development.

Highlighting the Academy's advancements, Tinubu noted that the NDA has significantly enhanced its counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency training programs while rapidly incorporating technological innovations into its curricula. This evolution reflects a commitment to ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to tackle the multifaceted security challenges facing Nigeria today.

Furthermore, the President pointed out the NDA's strengthened collaborations with prestigious military institutions worldwide, which have allowed Nigerian cadets to receive training in countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Brazil, and France. These international partnerships underscore the increasing recognition of Nigeria's military capabilities, as evidenced by invitations for NDA cadets to participate in competitive military events across the globe, including in the U.S., Brazil, and China.
