Tinubu Support Group Mobilizes Southeast Voters for 2027 Elections
The Tinubu Support Group in the Southeast is rallying for President Bola Tinubu's re-election, urging local voters to back APC candidates. However, internal dissent surfaces among APC leaders in Anambra regarding the party's strategic alliances and recognition.

The Tinubu Support Group (TSG) has launched an initiative in the Southeast, spearheaded by former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Auditor, Sir Paul Chukwuma. The group convened a rally in Awka, Anambra State, on Thursday, aimed at galvanizing support for President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
During the rally, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, called upon voters in the Southeast to rally behind APC candidates at all levels. Chukwuma, who previously ran for governor in Anambra State and is currently the APC senatorial candidate for Anambra Central, echoed this sentiment, asserting that Tinubu's policies and governance style have resonated positively with the electorate in the region.
Confidence was expressed by the rally's speakers that the APC would secure significant votes across the five states of the Southeast. They believe that Tinubu's leadership has laid a foundation that will attract voter support. However, this optimism is not universally shared within the party.
“The APC must be properly recognized in political arrangements in Anambra,” stated Sir Obiora Okpala, the party’s state secretary, highlighting concerns over the perceived reliance on the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to gain votes for Tinubu.
Okpala further criticized the national leadership of the APC for what he characterized as an unfair advantage afforded to APGA in the political landscape of Anambra. He stated that the party deserves to be included in strategic discussions and decisions, reflecting its status as the ruling party at the national level and a crucial player in state politics.
