Tinubu Must Go Poll: Atiku Abubakar Emerges as Leading Candidate for 2027 Elections

An online survey initiated by the Tinubu Must Go (TMG) movement has positioned former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the frontrunner in the race for the 2027 presidential election. The poll, which was active for 24 hours from September 24 to 25, attracted a staggering 109,799 participants, with Abubakar receiving 80,809 votes, translating to 73.6% of the total.

In stark contrast, the coalition of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, representing the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), garnered only 24,519 votes, accounting for 22.3%. The remaining votes, totaling 4,471 or 4.1%, were distributed among other candidates, indicating a clear preference among respondents for the Atiku/Amaechi ticket.

The TMG movement, spearheaded by Abba Hikima, has gained prominence for its vocal opposition to the current Tinubu administration, primarily due to the economic challenges faced by Nigerians. The poll results not only reflect public sentiment but also underscore the growing momentum behind Abubakar's campaign as he seeks to reclaim the presidency.

“Approximately seven minutes after voting commenced, the figures stood at about 76.6 percent in support of the Atiku/Amaechi ticket and 20.9 percent for Obi/Kwankwaso,” the pollsters noted, highlighting the consistency in voter preference throughout the polling period.

The TMG's efforts to gauge public opinion come at a critical time, as Nigeria prepares for another electoral cycle, and the findings may influence both campaign strategies and voter engagement in the months to come.
