Police Unveil Strategic Security Roadmap for 2027 Elections

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Disu, has emphasized the importance of a comprehensive security strategy as Nigeria gears up for the 2027 elections. During the closing session of the CARSPO 2026 retreat, he instructed senior police officers to translate the retreat's resolutions into actionable plans across various commands and formations.

This initiative comes in response to the increasing need for effective security measures surrounding the electoral process, particularly in light of past electoral violence and security challenges. IGP Disu's directive underscores the commitment of the Nigerian Police Force to safeguard the integrity of the upcoming elections and ensure a peaceful environment for citizens to exercise their democratic rights.

“Our focus must remain on proactive measures that deter violence and promote a secure atmosphere for voters,” IGP Disu stated.
