The Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) forum is poised to enter a transformative phase for Nigeria's local content sector as it convenes for its landmark 15th edition in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. Under the theme "Defining Strategic Priorities for the Next Decade of Nigerian Content Implementation," the forum will gather key stakeholders, including government officials, regulatory bodies, industry operators, and indigenous businesses, to establish a roadmap that extends beyond the existing framework.
Wemimo Oyelana, Country Director of DMG Nigeria Events, emphasized the significance of the forum, stating, "Fifteen years of Nigerian Content implementation have demonstrated what sustained policy, regulatory commitment, and industry collaboration can achieve." He further noted that as the current roadmap nears its completion, it is crucial for discussions to evolve from merely measuring progress to actively defining the requirements for the next decade.
PNC 2026 aims to address four essential priorities deemed vital for advancing Nigerian content: mobilizing capital, identifying project opportunities, enhancing local content participation, and refining policy frameworks. The strategic forum is designed to foster accountability through a variety of formats, including Strategic Leadership Panels, which will facilitate meaningful dialogue among participants.
"As we look ahead, it is imperative to engage stakeholders in shaping priorities that will not only support immediate goals but also ensure the long-term sustainability of Nigerian content," Oyelana added.
This year’s forum promises to be a pivotal moment for Nigeria's local content landscape, as it seeks to harness collective insights and strategies that will drive future growth and development in the sector.
