The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has taken a firm stand against the alarming rise of fraudulent employment schemes, issuing a public warning to job seekers across the nation. In a memorandum dated October 5, 2026, signed by Samaila Abdu, the Executive Director of Administration, the NSITF clarified that it is not engaged in any recruitment efforts at this time.
The notice, circulated to regional and branch managers, highlighted the prevalence of deceptive advertisements circulating on social media platforms, particularly Facebook. These fraudulent postings often feature individuals or groups falsely claiming to represent the NSITF, preying on the hopes of those seeking employment.
“Stay alert, stay safe,” the Fund urged, advising the public to ignore such advertisements and refrain from making any payments related to alleged job opportunities.
According to the NSITF, they do not charge fees for employment and do not conduct recruitment through unofficial channels. Any legitimate job openings will be announced through their official platforms, reinforcing the importance of verifying sources before acting on recruitment offers.
The Fund has called on the public to report any suspicious recruitment advertisements or requests to the appropriate NSITF authorities, emphasizing the need for vigilance in protecting oneself from such scams. This initiative underlines the organization’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of its recruitment processes and safeguarding the interests of Nigerian job seekers.
