The escalating tensions on the Korean Peninsula have taken a new turn as Kim Yo Jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, issued a stern warning against the United States. In a statement released by the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), she accused the US of exacerbating regional tensions through its frequent military drills, which she labeled as a 'US-led war rehearsal.'

Kim's remarks come in the wake of joint military exercises conducted by US forces and their allies in the Asia-Pacific region. She stated, "The present situation, in which new records are set in terms of practical action hostile toward the DPRK, stresses the need to break records in our responsive action, proportional or more offensive in its nature." This declaration signals a potential escalation in military posturing from Pyongyang.

Further emphasizing North Korea's commitment to its military capabilities, Kim asserted, "Our will to defend our sovereignty will be expressed in clearer action and there will never ever change in the course of intensifying the nuclear war deterrence." This statement highlights North Korea's determination to counter what it perceives as provocations from the US and its allies.

Kim Yo Jong's warning also included a direct admonition to the US, stating that should North Korean interests and military sovereignty be seriously threatened, the country would mobilize all available means to respond. This rhetoric underscores the fragile state of security in the region, where diplomatic efforts have yet to yield substantial progress.
