The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has reported a significant achievement in its ongoing operations against terrorism, with military troops neutralizing 36 terrorists and rescuing 50 abductees in various locations across Nigeria. The operations spanned from October 2 to October 8, reflecting the government’s intensified efforts to address the challenges posed by insurgency and banditry in the region.
According to the DHQ, these operations not only led to the deaths of armed insurgents but also resulted in the arrest of several suspects and their collaborators, showcasing a broader strategy to dismantle the networks supporting terrorism. The successful rescue of the abductees is a testament to the military's commitment to safeguarding citizens and restoring peace in areas affected by violence.
In a recent statement, a military spokesperson emphasized, “The operations are part of our coordinated efforts to ensure that we uproot all forms of terrorism and restore normalcy in our communities.” This proactive approach is critical as Nigeria continues to grapple with security challenges that threaten the safety of its populace.
“Our troops are dedicated, and their resolve is unwavering as they engage in these operations to secure the nation,” the spokesperson added.
The DHQ has called for continued support from the public, urging citizens to provide timely information that can assist the military in its fight against terrorism. The recent successes highlight a growing momentum in the military's campaign, reinforcing the need for unity in the face of ongoing threats.
