In a bold commitment to reshape Delta State's economic landscape, Chris Iyovwaye, the governorship candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced plans to drive industrialisation as a key strategy for job creation and sustainable development. Speaking during a consultation meeting with Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu, Managing Director of Benco Pools, in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, Iyovwaye emphasized the importance of a robust industrial sector for the state's future.

Iyovwaye's delegation included notable party figures, such as Mr. Victor Ochei, the NDC's Delta North senatorial candidate, and other candidates vying for various constituencies within the region. The meeting served as a platform for Iyovwaye to articulate his vision for Delta State, which he believes has been hindered by poor leadership and mismanagement of resources. He stated, "The current government has failed to leverage our common patrimony for the benefit of our people. We need innovative leadership that can translate our resources into meaningful development."

The candidate outlined a comprehensive plan aimed at fostering economic growth through practical policies that prioritize industrial development. He asserted that such an approach would not only create jobs but also ensure sustainable development across the state. "If given the opportunity, my administration will implement measurable results that will demonstrate our commitment to unlocking Delta's vast economic potential," he declared.

Furthermore, Iyovwaye expressed confidence in the NDC's roster of candidates, including presidential hopeful Mr. Peter Obi, underscoring a collective commitment to transforming Delta State's trajectory. He called upon stakeholders, including Nwachukwu and his grassroots movement, to rally behind the NDC in the coming elections, emphasizing that Delta has the potential to become a leading economic hub in Nigeria.
