In a significant development for Nigeria's industrial sector, Hassan Hammoud, the Chairman and CEO of Mamuda Group, led a delegation of board members on an official visit to the Dangote Refinery in Lagos. This facility, recognized as one of the largest single-train petroleum refining plants globally, serves as a vital component of Nigeria's energy infrastructure. The visit included an engaging meeting with Aliko Dangote, the President and Chief Executive of Dangote Group, alongside his daughter, Fatima Dangote, who serves as Executive Director.
The delegation was given a comprehensive tour of key sections of the refinery, which provided them with a firsthand understanding of the scale and sophistication of operations at this monumental facility. After the tour, Hammoud expressed his admiration for the refinery, calling it a “defining achievement for African industry” and a benchmark for large-scale investment on the continent. He noted that the establishment of such a facility is crucial for enhancing Nigeria's industrial capabilities and energy independence.
During his remarks, Hammoud also acknowledged the efforts of President Bola Tinubu in creating a conducive environment for substantial industrial investments in Nigeria. His recognition of Tinubu's administration reflects a broader appreciation for government initiatives aimed at bolstering local industries and attracting foreign investments.
Aliko Dangote and Fatima Dangote’s visionary leadership in realizing the ambitious project has been pivotal, according to Hammoud. The Mamuda Group, which operates in diverse sectors including beverages, personal care, and consumer goods, aims to expand its footprint across West and Central Africa. The visit to the Dangote Refinery not only highlights the operational excellence of the facility but also reinforces the collaborative spirit among leading industrial players in Nigeria.
