Katsina Eyes Agricultural Advancement Inspired by Jigawa Research Institute

A five-member delegation from Katsina State, headed by Commissioner of Agriculture Aliyu Lawan Zakari Shargalle, recently embarked on a two-day study visit to the Jigawa Research Institute. This visit, sanctioned by Governor Umaru Dikko Radda, aims to draw inspiration from the research institute's successful agricultural practices and innovations.

The Jigawa Research Institute has garnered attention for its effective strategies in boosting agricultural output and addressing local farming challenges. Observing the institute's operations, the Katsina delegation is keen to replicate its successes by establishing a similar state-owned agricultural research center that caters specifically to the needs of farmers in Katsina.

Commissioner Shargalle expressed optimism about the potential benefits of this initiative, stating, "The success we’ve seen in Jigawa is a clear indication that with the right research and development, we can significantly improve our agricultural sector.
