In a significant move towards enhancing alternative energy infrastructure, Jigawa State has entered into a partnership with the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Governor Umar Namadi made this announcement during a courtesy visit from Ismaeel Ahmed, the chairman of the Presidential Initiative, at the Government House in Dutse on Tuesday.

The partnership seeks to expand the use of CNG, which is considered a cleaner and more affordable energy source compared to traditional fossil fuels. Governor Namadi expressed optimism about the initiative, highlighting its potential to not only provide sustainable energy solutions but also to stimulate economic growth within the state.

“This collaboration is a step towards ensuring that Jigawa is at the forefront of adopting cleaner energy technologies,” the Governor stated. “We believe that with the support of the Presidential Initiative, we can significantly reduce our carbon footprint while also addressing energy accessibility for our citizens.”

The initiative is part of the federal government's broader strategy to diversify Nigeria's energy resources and promote the adoption of alternative fuels. By partnering with the Presidential Initiative, Jigawa aims to leverage federal resources and expertise to strengthen its energy infrastructure and improve the living standards of its residents.

“Our goal is to create a sustainable energy ecosystem that not only meets the needs of today but also secures a better future for generations to come,” added Ahmed during the visit.
