High Voter Turnout Marks Enugu Local Government Elections

Election day across the 17 local government areas in Enugu State was marked by a remarkable turnout of voters, showcasing the enthusiasm of the electorate in participating in the democratic process. Reports indicate that the elections were largely peaceful, with voters eager to cast their ballots and engage in local governance.

Chris Onyekachi Simon, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, expressed gratitude to the voters at his Umu Ozzi Ward 8 after casting his vote. He remarked, “The large turnout is an indication of the acceptance of my party among the people, and I am committed to providing quality service in return for the trust they have shown.” Simon also emphasized his intention to ensure peace across all communities in his local government area.

Similarly, Dennis Agbo, the member representing Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency, lauded the support from the electorate while addressing journalists at his Essodo Ward. He credited President Bola Tinubu’s administration for fostering favorable conditions for the South East, which has encouraged local leaders to initiate substantial projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for citizens. “The acceptance of our party in Enugu State is a testament to the positive changes we are bringing,” Agbo stated.
