Mr. Hamzat's recent announcement of a 100-point manifesto marks a significant step towards the transformation of Lagos State's governance and public service delivery. The proposed initiatives aim to address critical issues affecting the state's residents, particularly in healthcare and welfare.
Among the key highlights of the manifesto is the commitment to establish 15 maternal and child health centers across the state, alongside the construction of two new general hospitals. This focus on maternal and child health is expected to significantly improve healthcare access and outcomes for vulnerable populations.
In addition to healthcare initiatives, Mr. Hamzat also pledged to enhance public transportation infrastructure and set an ambitious target of achieving 95 percent waste collection efficiency. Such measures are seen as vital to improving urban living conditions and reducing environmental challenges in Lagos.
“Our goal is to create a sustainable environment where every citizen has access to quality healthcare and essential services,” Mr. Hamzat stated during the unveiling of his manifesto.
Furthermore, the establishment of a child protection agency and a state wealth fund aims to provide a safety net for children and stimulate economic development. These initiatives reflect a holistic approach to governance, prioritizing the well-being of residents and the sustainable growth of Lagos State.
