Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has officially sworn in the newly elected 21 local government chairmen and their deputies, marking a significant step in local governance. During the ceremony, the governor urged the officials to prioritize service delivery, accountability, and the responsible use of public resources, underscoring the critical role they play in their communities.

In his address, Soludo stressed the importance of taking their oaths of office seriously, encouraging the chairmen to regularly review their commitments and consider displaying their oaths in visible locations as a constant reminder of their responsibilities. “As you begin your journey, know that it is a call to serve,” he stated, urging them to be their brothers’ and sisters’ keepers, a principle aligned with the agenda of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The governor reminded the newly sworn-in officials to set aside personal aspirations and focus on their duties, stating, “Welcome to the world of reality and the clock starts ticking today. The work has already begun.” He highlighted the need for accountability during their tenure, noting that even the time spent at the swearing-in ceremony counts towards their official responsibilities.

Soludo also reflected on the APGA’s dominance in Anambra State over the past two decades, mentioning that the party's candidates encountered minimal opposition in the recent council elections. He challenged the newly elected chairmen to build on this legacy and ensure effective governance that meets the needs of their constituents.
