First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Celebrates Ndigbo's Warmth During Anambra Visit

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, recently highlighted the admirable qualities of the Ndigbo people, referring to them as "very nice" and encouraging partnerships across various sectors. This commendation came during her visit to Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, Anambra State, where she received a traditional title of 'Ugoeze Anambra' (Royal Eagle) from the local council of traditional rulers, led by Igwe Chidubem Iweka III of Obosi Kingdom.

Mrs. Tinubu expressed her gratitude for the warm reception she received from the people of Anambra, signaling her intention to return to the state to further solidify connections. Her visit included the commissioning of a new Technological Centre at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, which is expected to enhance educational and technological advancement in the region. She lauded the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, recognizing his significant contributions to the state’s development and his reputation for quality leadership.

In her remarks, the First Lady also acknowledged the impactful efforts of Nonye Soludo, the governor’s wife, who has empowered over 5,000 residents through various initiatives. Mrs. Tinubu pledged to support this empowerment scheme by contributing N100,000 to each beneficiary, demonstrating her commitment to uplifting the local community. "I didn’t come here for a campaign but as a Nigerian. I will come back in due course because Ndigbo are very nice people and trustworthy," she stated, reinforcing her admiration for the region.
