The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has taken a significant step forward in its operational strategy by re-establishing its revenue-generating capabilities at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) in Lagos. This development follows the amicable resolution of a long-standing 20-year dispute with Bi-Courtney Aviation Services, which has been embroiled in litigation over the management and revenue rights of the terminal.
The agreement signifies a crucial turning point, as both FAAN and Bi-Courtney have agreed to relinquish their historical claims and accept revised operational terms. This collaborative approach aims to enhance the efficiency of the airport's operations while ensuring that both parties benefit from the generated revenue.
FAAN's ability to now earn revenue from MMA2 is expected to bolster its financial health and improve the services provided at one of Nigeria's busiest airports. By settling this dispute, FAAN is positioned to focus on enhancing passenger experience and operational excellence without the burden of ongoing litigation.
“This agreement marks a new chapter for both FAAN and Bi-Courtney, allowing us to focus on delivering a superior travel experience for our passengers,” said a spokesperson from FAAN.
Industry experts believe that the resolution of this dispute will not only benefit the stakeholders involved but also have a positive ripple effect on the aviation sector in Nigeria. As FAAN enters this new phase, stakeholders are optimistic about the improvements in infrastructure and services at MMA2, ultimately contributing to the growth of Nigeria's aviation industry.
