The Development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC) has officially opened applications for its free training program tailored specifically for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and foundations in Nigeria. This eight-week virtual program is set to take place from October 20 to December 19, 2026, and aims to bolster the operational capacities of local organizations by enhancing their management practices and promoting sustainable funding strategies.
Designed to address the unique challenges faced by Nigerian NGOs, the training will cover essential topics such as organizational resilience, effective philanthropy, and the development of sustainable funding models. Participants will gain valuable insights that are crucial for navigating the increasingly competitive landscape of charitable funding and operational management.
According to dRPC, the initiative is part of a broader effort to empower local organizations, ensuring they are better equipped to serve their communities and effectively implement their missions. The program not only seeks to enhance the skills of participants but also fosters a network of collaborative support among NGOs across the country.
“Our goal is to provide a comprehensive learning experience that equips participants with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in the nonprofit sector,” said a representative from dRPC. “We believe that strengthening local organizations ultimately leads to more impactful community development.”
Applications for the training program are now open, and interested NGOs and foundations are encouraged to apply early to secure their spot. This initiative represents a significant opportunity for local organizations to enhance their capabilities and contribute more effectively to Nigeria's development goals.
