During the inauguration of the PBAT/KOH Lagos Central Campaign Office on Harden Street in Lagos Island, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, articulated the critical role that the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates will play in driving Nigeria’s prosperity. As the APC governorship candidate for Lagos State in the 2027 elections, Hamzat called on residents, particularly those in the Lagos Central Senatorial District, to mobilize and vote in large numbers in support of Tinubu.

Hamzat highlighted the deep-rooted political connection between Tinubu and Lagos State, asserting that re-electing the President is essential for sustaining the progress initiated under his administration. He stated, "We must demonstrate our support by voting for his re-election so that he can continue the work he has started, which is vital for our collective future."

Emphasizing the significance of voter participation, Hamzat noted that Lagos holds the highest number of registered voters in Nigeria, yet many fail to translate their registration into actual votes. He stressed the importance of grassroots mobilization, saying, "We are here to mobilise residents to come out and vote for our President because he is one of us." The campaign, he indicated, aims to ensure that every voice is heard and every vote counts in the upcoming elections.

The Deputy Governor underscored the urgency of this mobilization as a means to achieve the desired electoral outcomes, promising that the newly inaugurated campaign office will serve as a hub for engaging with the electorate. "Lagos Island has performed well in past elections, but we must do more to ensure that our numbers reflect our commitment to the democratic process," he concluded.
