Dangote Refinery Eyes U.S. Listing Within Four Years — The Abuja Times Newsroom

Dangote Refinery, a flagship project of Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, is set to make waves in international markets with plans to list on the U.S. stock exchange within the next three to four years. This announcement signals a significant step for the company as it seeks to enhance its global presence and attract foreign investments.

Mr. Dangote highlighted that this move is driven by the anticipated scale of the refinery, which is projected to account for 10 percent of the total refining capacity in the United States. He noted, "By doing so, because the company will be very, very large, we will be having 10 percent of the total America’s capacity." This ambitious goal illustrates the refinery's potential to reshape not only Nigeria's energy landscape but also to influence global oil markets.

The refinery, located in Lagos, is already poised to be one of the largest in Africa, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. As it approaches completion, the company is focusing on operational efficiency and market readiness to ensure a successful entry into the competitive U.S. market.

Investors are keenly watching these developments, as a U.S. listing could significantly increase the refinery's capital base and provide access to a broader pool of investment. This strategic pivot aligns with Dangote Group’s long-term vision of becoming a leading player in the global energy sector.
