A youth support group associated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a clarion call for unity among its members, stressing the need to avoid divisions as the 2027 elections loom on the horizon. The group expressed its backing for Dayo Israel, the National Youth Leader of the APC, encouraging young party members to rally support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the group highlighted that internal disputes could jeopardize the party's chances in the upcoming elections. Instead, they urged APC youths to channel their energies towards strengthening the party’s foundation and enhancing voter engagement strategies. “We must work together to ensure that our voices are heard and our collective efforts translate into a resounding electoral victory,” the statement read.
The call for unity comes amidst growing concerns about potential rifts within the party. With the political landscape evolving rapidly, the youth group believes that a united front is essential not only for securing the presidency but also for consolidating APC's influence at various levels of government. “Divisions weaken us; unity strengthens our resolve,” they asserted.
“As young leaders, it is our responsibility to inspire confidence and foster collaboration among ourselves. This is not the time for infighting; it is the time to build bridges and expand our base,” the group concluded.
As the APC gears up for the electoral battle, the youth group's sentiments reflect a broader recognition within the party that solidarity and strategic mobilization will be key in navigating the challenges ahead. With the elections approaching, the focus on unity could prove pivotal in shaping the political narrative leading up to 2027.
